Roy E. Strickland

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Roy E. Strickland, 64, of Marbury, Maryland.  He passed peacefully surrounded by family in his childhood home in Marbury, Maryland on April 12, 2024.  He was born August 6, 1959, to Joseph W. Strickland and Eugenia Stickland in Daytona, Florida.  Roy was a loving son, father, brother, grandfather, husband, and friend.  

He is proceeded in death by his parents Jake and Eugenia Strickland, brother Jakie Strickland, daughter Heather Underwood, nephew Joshua Strickland and many other family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Strickland, daughter Jessica Underwood, his sister Debbie McGuigan, (Jimmy), his brother Ronnie Strickland (Jeanie) and sister Betty Tilley, his beloved grandchildren, many nephews and nieces.

Roy was a people person, always looking for a good time.  He enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool, fishing, and, of course, drinking beer.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and showing off his bricklaying skills taught to him by his dad Jake!  Roy was always on the go whether working as a handyman, enjoying a church service on Sunday mornings at Grace Baptist Church, or catching whatever sports event was on the tv that day!  Anyone who knows him, knows he was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan, Baltimore Orioles fan, and he enjoyed watching Nascar with friends on Sundays!

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday May 4, 2024 at 11 AM at Grace Baptist Church, Bryans Road, Maryland.
